I actually had to quit one job because the manager was only considering a budget for training after all other needs were fulfilled and I had to go to the company junk yard to collect broken parts to be used for training the employees. Thank you so much, I really appreciate yours feedback.

AdelAdel Abdel Aziz's Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07425098777092690451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-420015588631106053.post-79292534096551005802012-03-06T10:31:41.140-08:002012-03-06T10:31:41.140-08:00Hi Denna,

I too like the idea of it not being a luxury, rather a necessity. I have worked at organizations who decided to cut back and eliminate resources from training only to later suffer and flounder. Training is indeed necessary.Natashahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04367750218892984215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-420015588631106053.post-39033171892944106952012-03-04T16:03:49.885-08:002012-03-04T16:03:49.885-08:00Adel,
I liked the fact that you began your speech ...Adel,
I liked the fact that you began your speech by emphasizing the need to compete in a global and electronic marketplace. You mentioned that in 2008, 134 billion dollars was spent on employee training and development. If I was a CEO the first thing that would come to my mind is did it make a difference? What was the return on investment for companies who provided employee training and development?
I liked you comment regarding the role of training and development providing the company with the knowledge and skills it needs to gain a competitive advantage and successfully deal with competitive challenges. That raised my interest in how you could do that with training. I also liked the fact that you stressed the value of creating a positive work environment that can support the company's business strategy. Instead of waiting for him to call, you might want to tell him you'll call to schedule a follow-up meeting.
MikeMichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15991592988238203005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-420015588631106053.post-72734672036287957932012-03-04T10:00:59.862-08:002012-03-04T10:00:59.862-08:00Adel,

My favorite part was that you integrated a line from the book that really stood out to me as well; training is not a luxury. This one sentence says a lot about this topic.

Great job!The Big Eyed Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00725316806219723955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-420015588631106053.post-72841813004294231652012-03-03T12:01:50.626-08:002012-03-03T12:01:50.626-08:00Hi Adel,

This highlighted its's importance. Then you went on to state how and why training is important. I think restating how employees grow and develop as a result of training was highly effective. Lastly, you remained true to form in asking for a more time in a "sit-down" meeting. I especially thought this comment would hit home with many employers, "Training prepares employees to use new technologies, function in new work systems and communicate and cooperate with peers or customers."(Aziz, 2012). Many companies are seeking employees with specific skills and talents, even outsourcing just to find talented employees (Noe, 2012). What a savings training could provide, when used to promote the growth and development of a companies current employment base. Great speech!D.
